New Beer for 2013

Antwerp Ale

I got the inspiration for the Antwerp Ale beer poster from a drawing in the "Adventure of Tintin" book called "The Crab with the Golden Claws" by Herge a belgian cartoonist. The scene is in the port of Antwerp you can see Tintin walking in the foreground, the name of the ship is "Gambrinus" which is a legendary king of Flanders, and an unofficial patron saint of beer or beer brewing, Gambrinus was duke John I of Brabant (1254-1298), who was called Jan Primus. (the name is a corruption of Jan Primus (John the first)). The glass of beer included in the logo is a "Bolleke" served with the most popular beer in antwerp which is brewed by the DeKonick Brewery in Antwerp.
